russtang, these look great! Just wondering if the last standard kit has been spoken for - if not, then :takeit:. I'll have my paypal waiting.

If the standard kits are all gone, are you planning on doing a second run?

You get the last standard one.
No second run of these.

7 stonewashed available.

ok, I got a noob question, would appreciate if someone can advice.

In preparation for the swapping, I can't seem to remove the SS bezel. Is there a trick to remove the emitter? Thanks. :grin2:

Thanks for the advice! 😀

But I still can't unscrew the bezel. I try not to use pliers because it completely scrapped my maglite the last I tried. The bezel is thin, so it's kind of hard to grab on and it's too smooth for palm to get the necessary friction. :mecry:

If unscrewing the bezel is the only way, then I'll get it done by whatever means necessary 😡

Btw, mine's a GD+, wonder if anyone else has problem opening their GD+

Leave the mouse pad on the table flipped over. Then press your light into it using enough pressure to make it turn. Try the bottom of a tennis shoe if the pad does not work. I have a GD+ and this method works fine.

The flip side of a mouse pad works great.
Frank

Thanks, Drywolf. That sounds like a good idea too. I'll try that.... now where's that mousepad I had 2 years ago...?

If you can't find the mousepad, try rubber kitchen gloves, a wide rubber band, or a vinyl like material. Anything that grips would do.

Put it on a flat surface, press the bezel down and twist CCW. Apply enough pressure to keep the gloves from slipping, but not enough
to add unneeded friction in the threads. Good luck!

I just press it into the bottom of my rubber soled shoes and twist.

Just got mine and switched guts, man! what a great light! I have an extra 1.55x7 white trit that fits perfectly. Think I may throw in a 5A Q3 emitter I have lying around just for kicks.

Thanks all for your kind advice in unscrewing the bezel. :grouphug:

But the methods proposed don't work:mecry:
Anyway, I'm not supposed to hijack this thread, sorry Russ.

I'll try to use heat and cold next. I'll destroy the bezel if I have to, to get it done when the Ti body arrives. 😡
