Long time viewer, lots of useful information, thank you.
Now it's time for me to put in my 2 cents.

I'm using hobby charger to test capacity of LSD size C used for my kid's toys.
First, using MH-C808M, I did a soft charge and condition on 4 of each.
Then each battery will go thru 4 discharge/charge cycle on BC6DX-II.
There is a 60 minute pause between discharge and charge.
Each set takes about 4 days so I will post next set as it becomes available.
Also, I'm a consumer and not affiliated to any of the products here.

AccuEvolution 4500 mAh (purchased Mar 2011)
Charge .5 amp (.1C rounded up) until 1.6C (7200mAh)
Discharge .9 amp (.2C) until .9 volts

Immedion C 5000mAh (purchased Jan 2011)
Charge .5 amp (.1C) until 1.6C (8000mAh)
Discharge 1 amp (.2C) until .9 volts

A picture is worth a thousand words, so here we go.

For set 'A' it's 90 seconds charge, then 6 seconds pause (no charge), repeat.
Discharge mode is constant current.

Thank you for the information!

Average of four discharges at 0.2C of manufacturers stated capacity:

AccuEvolution capacity: 4603.7mAh (SD of 146.5mAh)

Immedion capacity: 4520.7mAh (SD of 187.5mAh)

It would be interesting to see the cell voltage at open circuit and 2A load to get an idea of the IR.

A picture's worth 1000 word when it can be seen. The meter's face is too dark on my monitor.

The Accu's capacity is very close to my results after only three cycles. I'm going to retest the C & D Accu's soon, for capacity and voltage maintenance.

Thanks for posting, My2Cents

Russel, I've added the internal resistance values.

That's good to know jayflash, we'll see if results are consistent.

Thanks for adding the IR values, My2Cents. I expected slightly lower values in these larger cells, Eneloop AA cells usually measure around 50mOhms. The important thing is the difference between the two cells, which turns out to be negligible.

You are correct, the Ri value is lower. The initial reading was done using RadioShack battery holder and some alligator clips. When I used a better battery holder with soldered connection, Ri reported was about half on the same battery. I've replaced the info with discharge graph that also shows internal resistance. I'll do 2 amps on the next 2 sets.

For set 'B' it's 90 seconds charge, then 6 seconds pause (no charge), repeat.
Discharge mode is 'cv-mode' - fixed current until .9 volts, then current is reduced to hold it at .9 volts. This method is for maximum discharged.

Sorry for the messy presentation.
The graphing portion of the EOS07210i software has very limited options.

Interesting results... seems like AccuEvolution hold their voltage better through the discharge, than the Imedions.... but something does not look right about you're MH-C808M chargers Slot #1, consistently lower results on your test rig??

I don't think MH-C808M slot #1 (or the other slots) have anything to do with the consistently low results.

All testing was done on BC6DX-II and EOS0720i-NET-AD (I refer to as EOS0720i).
1st BC6DX-II handle the AccuEvolutions and 2nd BC6DX-II for Imedions.
Setup is for 4 cycles so discharge result on 2, 3 and 4 are from charge 1, 2 and 3.

EOS0720i is used for the Ri and discharge graph from charge 4 of BC6DX-II.

Perhaps timeline will explain procedure better.
I think it's down to a routine for 'set C' and 'set D'.

4/12/11.
Charged batteries using MH-C808M charger, soft and condition.
AccuEvolution on slots 1,3,5,7. Imedions on slots 2,4,6,8.

4/14/11.
Waited 2 more hours from the time 'done' was noted.
Remove and placed batteries in a holding area.
MH-C808M is now put aside.
Started 'set A' 4 discharge/charge cycles on BC6DX-II.

4/18/11.
'Set A' finished, took pictures.
Discharge 1 here is from charge that completed on 4/14/11 (MH-C808M slots 1 & 2).
started 'set B'.

4/19/11.
Started thread for 'set A' (my first non practice post ever).

4/20/11.
Did a quick run to get Ri on 'set A' using EOS0720i and posted text result.

4/22/11
'Set B' finished, took pictures.
Discharge 1 here is from charge that completed on 4/14/11 (MH-C808M slots 3 & 4),
Started 'set C'.

Proceeded to get 'Ri' values using EOS0720i for 'set B'. It was suppose to be a quick run but when AccuEvolution MAR.2011.B showed very different result, I decided to let it run the full discharge (1 amp to .9 volt). Same thing happened with Imedion JAN.2011.B, At this point, I decided do a full discharge run on 'set A' to get correct Ri values.

4/23/11
Posted 'set B', edited 'set A' (replaced Ri text result with graph).
Also acknowledged Russel's Ri hunch.

For set 'C', charge mode is constant current until 1.6C.
Discharge is also constant current.

Also added temperature (celsius) to 2 amp discharge graph.

For set 'D', charge mode is constant current until 1.6C.
Discharge is 'cv-mode' for maximum mAh capacity.

This time, screen's little dark - discharge numbers are 4247, 4727, 4732,4730.

This concludes my capacity check for size C cells for now.

Hello Aussie Cheese,

I am not sure how you are drawing that conclusion...

When trying to determine the capacity of a cell, there is a standard procedure that you use. This procedure was established by the battery manufacturers in an effort to get the most capacity from a cell.

A key component of this procedure is the forming charge.

If a cell does not perform well using a forming charge, it is crap. Forming is not bad for a cell. Forming allows you to see the cells performance under ideal conditions.
