-Steigerwald ARC38 (SFV Tribute)

My sales threads are not complete without a bit of history so here we go!!

The SuperFlashLight (SF) series of lights started as the HyperLux by TnC, the design later being adopted by light engine and circuit builder, Mike Jordan. The SF line had a number of generations. I, II, III, no IV (since 4 is bad luck in Japan where Mike Jordan hailed from) and the last was the V series. The V differed from the other generations of SF's in overall design but still held on to enough cues to make it look like an evolution. I am not sure if TnC helped in the design (probably so) but they did do the machining like all other generations.

Now, this tribute of the SFV was crafted by knife builder, Steigerwald, and inspired by the original SFV design though sporting a number of improvements over that original design.
First, it is constructed in titanium instead of aluminum, it accepts 2, 18650's over 17670's, it has trits (10 in all), instead of having a propitiatory led and driver, it accepts a D36 drop-in, the body is 3-sided over the 2-flats and rounded sides of the SFV and the tail sports a fin design that balances out the fins on the head. The drop-in that is in it now is a single level XML2 by Customlights. Wonderful sandblasted finish and some most excellent machining. This large chunk of titanium is quite impressive with the head, body and anti-roll collar being one solid piece! The only designation on the body is the Steigerwald stamp on the head. Very clean design. This light has no dings and is in near mint condition with the exception of a few mar spots in the sandblasted finish (see pics). The satin texture of the sandblasted finish feels and look excellent!
I believe the ARC name was also in tribute to the line of lights from Mike Jordan called Arcmania and the "38" is in reference to the head diameter.
This SF design and series of lights is one of, if not, my favorite and others, such as Tain, did a "tribute" to SF design.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece and an excellent and unique addition to ones collection.

A pic with the original SFV on the right (not included in sale). The original sports some fantastic olive drab anno and is a cool piece with an early use of a 15 watt OStar led that puts out 1000 lumens which was a huge number back in 2007!!
