Just finished this light today. I picked up a new host a couple of days ago, and put an XRE R2 on a nice thick heat sink. Gave it a driver and lens and now I have a beautiful red aspherical M*g.
Specs are
New red 2D mag host ( this host is in perfect condition accept for one tiny scratch on the inside when I was working on it)
Glass aspherical lens
Aluminum and copper heat sink
XRE R2 emitter
3 mode driver High, Low, Strobe
Voltage range on the driver says 3-8.4, and on 2 li-ion I measured actual output between the led and driver at 960ma on High, and 80ma on low.
I have also put 2 alkaline D cells in it just to see if it would still work, and it does ( not sure for how long though).
This picture was taken in the day, but I at least wanted a picture of the die on a wall.
