FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced again & added 3 AW batt's)

The leef custom is sold! my handmade custom is still for sale!
Price reduced to $225 plus 3 barely used AW 18650 batt's!
lets start with the pictures first:)

This picture is for size comparison only! the two small lights are not for sale

P1010213.jpg

Sorry the pics are not so great:shrug:

Both of these lights use C-bin P7 leds with large heatsinks, and both run direct drive. Both of these lights use a five mega 3" smooth reflector. The beam is close to a mag with a P7 but the hotspot is smaller and much brighter with a very large spill beam.the best of both worlds!

(sold)The light in the first picture uses black big leef components for the body and tail cap with a mag d cell adapter for the head. The head is a five mega 3" turbo in black. It uses 1 AW C cell lithium battery.

(still for sale)I made the second light from 6061 aluminum and had it hard anodized black. The light uses three 18650 batterys in a custom holder, and they run in parallel. It uses a simple twisty tail cap for on and off. There is a large glow epoxy button on the tail cap shown in the last pic. It is recessed under glass and is very bright. The head also has 3 large red trits placed around the head to help spot the light in the dark.

I am asking $300 for the leef custom and $350 for my hand built light(reduced to $225 plus I will throw in 3 barely used AW 18650's).I will only accept paypal for payment. Both prices include shipping but not insurance.I will add it for actual cost. I will pack these very well to ensure each arrives safe and sound.

This is my first attempt to sell here but I have been a lurker for a long time.I promise these lights are both very nice and worth the money.

Thanks for looking!

Re: FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced)

The custom is still for sale at a reduced price. I built this light on our cnc lathe at work. It is built very solid with a large removable heat sink. Just remove three screws and the heat sink comes out. There is a lot of material around the led and it cools very well. You can run this light for long periods with no heat issues.

Thanks for looking

I like that custom piece!

3 18650's should run for quite a while.

Custom is still for sale, any questions about the light?

Re: FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced)

Hey Donn, congrats on your new light, it looks awesome! When you get it could you please post some beam pictures? I want to know how the reflector compares to my current 2.5 throwmaster P7.

Thanks!

Re: FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced)

You are running your custom P7 direct drive at 3.7-4.2 volts and 6000+mAh? What is the current from the battery pack at start up with freshly charged Li Ion's?

Bullzeye
I built this light for max output:naughty::cool:
on fresh AW cell's it pull's 4 amps, others here have done this with good results. I have run this light over fifteen minutes in test with no color shift. It is designed with a very large heat sink and a huge amount of material in the head around the slug to transfer heat. It is a heavy light built for this led.:twothumbs

Re: FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced)

Jim,

The BigLeef/FM just arrived, and it is outstanding! The quality of the build, and condition of the host is spectacular, and the quality and strength of the beam just blows me away!

As I mentioned in a PM, I changed heads. I prefer the older FM 3" heads, so I moved your modified smooth reflector to this FM3H head:

I think the fins will help with heat, as well.

:thanks: for a great light!:twothumbs

Donn
Glad to hear you like it! I think the smooth 3" reflector is just about a perfect match for the P7. I can stand at the end of my block and light up from right in front of my feet, to all the way down to the other end of the block:twothumbs

Re: FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced & added 3 batt's)

I also tried it with 2 more body segments and 3x NiMH C cells (4500mAH). It looks slightly less bright than with a freshly charged AW C, but it balances better, and may run longer.

Re: FS: custom P7 light with fm 3" reflector (price reduced & added 3 batt's)

Yes you should get more run time. Its nice that this light is flexible as to how it can be set up and run, lego style:twothumbs

GMC, what is the outside diameter of the body of your homemade light?
