Received my MAG HA III 1.5D host several weeks ago. Top-quality production! Thanks! I was very busy and had a vacation then, that's why didn't play with it.
Tried it with AW softstarter a few days ago, it doesn't work. Is the inner coating the reason of it? Do you have an idea to solve it?
In spite of this I'm pleased with the flashlight greatly.
I modified the stock switch with Kiu socket, 6 IMR123 batteries in FM 3х17670 holder, FM reflector, boro lense and Osram 64440 IRC... It's a real little monster in the course of 5 min. The load for the batteries is more than 8C but I don't use it continuously for a long time. 😀
I have plans to buy one more from the upcoming batches.

I'm sorry that I could not give you a date as theere are not many request for a quad bore as far I know. Maybe when there are enough interest, I could start one. Else, when I have I will have it posted here.

Just wondering what setup and holder are you using if there is a quad-bore?

I was interested in it too. I planned to use FM 8AA adapter:

I was also having in mind a work using this holder (but here to drive a P7). With 8 NiMh, you came close to the power holded in a regular 9AA 3D body, but with a more useful form factor.

And using 14500 instead of NiMh, SST-50 is also a possibility (or whatever may come in the future).

I am asking if these hosts (the ones that are still available for sale) can be used with an LED drop-in like the ones from Malkoff Devices, or similar?

I would be using this light when on duty so the type III HA is such a nice feature!

Plus they look kick-***!! 😀
