Sold/Expired FS - Onion Rings (SF A2 LED rings)

Fried and posted a few more onion rings today. Modding the LEDs takes a long time.

I made a costly mistake 🙁 by offering the Registered Post option. I did not know that Australia Post has hidden the Insured Post option which is now replaced by the more expensive Registered Post. I am going to bear all the extra cost for the current order. For future orders the price will be increased.

PM me the price difference. I'm sure we can work things out.

Post the unanticipated extra costs here - I'm sure people will not want to see you suffer any loss for providing this excellent community service.

Hi Koala,

Since my order hasn't shipped, I was wondering if it was possible for me to add the other colours of LED to my initial order. If this is okay, I'd like to add the following:

LED Yellow 1PK $1.2
LED Amber 1PK $0.6
LED Red 1PK $1.2
LED Cyan 1PK $0.6
LED Blue 1PK $0.9
LED White 1PK $1.5

For an additional total of $6, which I will send you if it's ok - otherwise you can just ignore this post 😛

OR-44 $21
LED Warm White 1PK $1.2
LED Green 1PK $0.9
Shipping $3.5

Total $26.6 :takeit:
EDIT: :paypal:

Thanks for this, Mr Koala!

Now to buy myself my first Surefire...

EDIT2: I'd also be interested in High CRI Nichias!

I received my order today also, very nice

I've already played with it for a few hours, but i have it with UV leds right now, for sheer cool factor. Filing down the leds isn't so bad when you chuck them in a drill press, takes a few seconds for each one. Thanks so much koala! lovecpf

Order received today, can't wait to install this later tonight.

I have to include a shot of what one Onion Ring with a full set of LEDs looks like, the possibilities here are making me giddy :tinfoil:

Also file the stoppers on leads if you have a dremel.

Koala,
I just received my onion ring and leds today. D*mn, YOU'RE GOOD! I filed the leds by hand, but next time I'll probably use the Dremel. I got all three screws to fit just fine. I used a small amount of 3M 'Contour Surface Sanding Pad' (Super Fine) to give a diffusion surface to the leds. The 'warm white' leds now give a very nice soft effect, with no visible rings. It's more of a very faint yellow, as shown in your beamshots, but I like it. The default 'medium setting' on the trimpot gives out plenty of light; I almost decided to turn it down, but might save that for the next installation. The fact that it works with FM's strion adapter kit makes this set-up A2 perfection. If I can get my new Tenergy '3 volt' batteries to fully charge, I will pop them in soon. I will be ordering more from you later, but since I will need to discuss snail-mailing you a USPS money order, and since I am moving soon, it will have to wait. Thank you again for offering this option. Guilt-free lumens, a low-cost bulb, and swappable, output-adjustable color options in an A2. Life is good.
