G&P Hellfighter KO

Most of their stuff is for airsoft (G&P is primarily an AEG manufacturer). On most their lights there are warnings against using them with actual guns. I doubt theres much shock resistance required for an AEG or even a gas powered airsoft.

thanks. im actually a huge airsofter. not in stature but in skill and lethality at flinging plastic bbs haha. Yeah I know their stuff isnt for real steel. but as a cheap KO of the Hellfighter and only 400 bucks is it worth it? or is utter crap?

Huh, I dunno. I haven't seen a thing about it. +1 on the airsoft though. I was thinking about buying one of the new lipo powered aegs a while back. Theres a review on flashlight reviews of the Scorpion R500.

My friend got the KWA M4 lipo ready. And due to a mistake in accounting he got two. one for free.

If you've got $400 to spare, try it out. But G&P really isn't thought of as a quality maker of lights in general. (Their Scorpion model is more the exception to the rule).

As a cheap copy, I'd expect the price to be lower. That much money could get you one of several high-quality lights.

The last two words in your question are just about right. The linked thread above goes into more detail.

It's bad news unless you want to throw $400 out the window.

P.S. This is the wrong forum. You wanted the "Spotlights & HID Flashlights"
Just for future reference ;) :)

There´s a much better thread than the linked one. A thread by BugOutGearUSA. Flavio had the light the threadstarter is wondering about for a testdrive. The ballast failed, the warrenty was more than questionable and spare parts like bulbs and ballast were nonexistent.

whoops sorry, mods could you please move this in the HID spotlight section. Does the Beast go under that category? just out of curiosity.

It's a shame. I really like that form factor. An alternative might be the N30, which is similar but lacks a lot of the tacticool factor that black aluminum brings.

If one could source a reflector I'm sure a similar light could be built by one of the machinists on this forum, probably using a 35W automotive ballast and lamp.

I have perchased that light,Only for the form factor.I did not have any problems with it yet!
I placed (with some work) a 50watt ballest and 4300 bulb in it.
And I'm driving it with 4S3P lith 18650 with a balencer for charging.
Also placed 3 set screws to colminate the bolb better.

So if your going to mod it them its a great hoast and I have not had any problems with the handle. As stated in the thread! I't did out through the sams club hid stock(must be the reflector coating).

But it's a lot of money indeed.
And if your not going to mount it you would be better off with the N30!

But it looks great!!!
Way to much money Unless you can justify it on looks alone.

The only thing is. Wouldn't an HID be too much for airsoft? Would it expose your position before you're in firing range?

You got it! The Beast is HID so would fit in perfectly over there.

I completely agree Ryan. It's not a practical light for the game and very few HID's would be. The biggest issue is the start up time. Although the higher wattage HID produce a lot of lumens right off the bat, they're slow to come to max brightness and full color. Additionally, most types of HID don't liked to be repetitively turned on and off because it could be hard on components. Some designs have overcome the hot re-strike issues but they're normally very expensive.
