I agree with this need, the G4 bulbs would be more effective in a larger reflector than the D26.

Is it possible to use the wa 1111 bulb with 2x IMR 18650. From luxauthor thread http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h75/pike444/bulbs/1111.jpg, the bulb seems to instaflash at 8.3v . I understand that imr 18650 have little sag , what if i pre drain the imr cells to 4v each , would i be able to run wa1111 on the IMR18650 without risk of instaflashing it.

just received, thanks for your great support and products, especially with the wa1185 the very large floody hotspot is incredible, with the mn-socket-kit its also possible to use the same lamp in an kt2 i.e. for producing a very useful throw.

Hi njet212,

The only way to use the "small" 9p body together with the wa1185 lamp, is to use 3x 16340 LiMn cells, like the imr collection from AW - protected cells can not produce that high current, and other not "safe" chemistry cells are dangerous in use.
3 protected 18650 cells are a good choice, because of useful runtime, but then you need an other (larger) body, too.

The forum member Nite sells bored SF C generic bodies for 18650 and 18500 cells. He also has a decent supply of the 1794 1000 lumen bulbs that can be used in Fivemega's other D26 reflector. Look below for the link to the bodies.

One of these in 2x 18500 is a darn nice setup on 3xIMR 16340 and a WA1185.
