In most cases WA1111 works and performs well with pair of IMR 18500
I use same LA with pair of IMR 18650 without problem.

This is result of my experience only and I am not recommending anyone to do or not to do.
Body is one of these 2x18650
Tail cap is $urefire twisty came out of 9P
WA1111 installed in G4 Sunlight.
2 IMR 18650
Room temperature 26C (79F)
Both cells slightly overcharged and then rested for several days.
Open circuit voltage of battery #1 reading 4.256 prior to test.
Open circuit voltage of battery #2 reading 4.239 prior to test.
Put everything together and fire it up. :thumbsup:
No instaflash, no dimming, no problem.
After 10 minutes, head was too hot to touch and couldn't hold the body with bare hands for more than 5 seconds. Tail cap was hot but still possible to hold from.
After 15 minutes, started to get dim and dimmer.
After 20 minutes, I immediately terminate the run time test and remove the batteries using some cloth to protect my hands and test the battery voltage again.
Open circuit voltage of battery #1 reading 3.548 after test.
Open circuit voltage of battery #2 reading 3.537 after test.
Both batteries were hot.
After sitting a while and cool down, battery voltage was as follow:
Open circuit voltage of battery #1 reading 3.554 after cool down.
Open circuit voltage of battery #2 reading 3.545 after cool down.
This will give you some idea that what you may expect from your flashlight keeping in mind that you may have healthier batteries, lower resistance switch, bulb from different batch and...
This is much brighter set up compare to P91, less chance of instaflash, longer bulb life and less expensive for replacement but current draw is little more (P91 2.7A versa WA1111 3.6A)

Hey Varooj, great test! :thumbsup: Right now, I'm using my 1111 with an MN socket in a SF KT on a 6P with a McClicky in the tailcap powered by 2x IMR 16340s. Until I saw your test, I was afraid to charge them all the way up to 4.22V (that's as high as my charger will go).

Seeing as I only have one 1111 right now, I didn't want it to go But knowing one held up to 2x IMR 18650, I'll charge 'em all the way!

Since I already have a G4 socket and a 2x 18500 host, I think I now need to buy some IMR 18500s! :devil:

Yes (both), with the proper bulb/battery combination.
