I borrowed the pic and info from Garrity's promotions website.

1 of my local Wal-Marts had a box of them in blister packs. It said it had a T1 bulb. Just wondering if it is worth picking one up. I hadn't seen them before.
Thanks.

I don't have one. But it got me to thinking. On how to fit an ARC AAA head to it and see if it works.

I've seen them at Wal Mart and Sports Authority.

Ahhh...now that would be a good idea. Hmmm...

Well the package at Wal-Mart said a T1 light, which is the xenon bulb?? Right??
So noone has one of these. Oh well.

In my opinion, a good penlight should have a bright LED instead of a xenon or krypton lamp as it will give a longer runtime and a more even beam. Not to mention that a good bright LED will blow away a small lamp in overall intensity. Also, short range illumination is what you typically use a penlight for and LED's are very good at that.

Which leads me to the question: are there any penlights, other then the Streamlight Stylus, that use a LED?

I prefer a light like this to have an LED, so I went with the StreamLight Stylus...

...T1 bulb is only xenon if the package specifies xenon (i.e. Nexstar). All others are not, to the best of my knowledge.

...there is nothing in the world more frustrating than a lousy beam...

I'll have to check the package again. I know it said something about the "T1" bulb on the front, like it was a new thing, but I didn't read everything.
Thanks for the help.

T-1 is the bulb shape and size. The glass is sized and shaped a certain way. Also, the pins are spaced apart at a certain distance. T-1 does not specify what type of gas is in the bulb (Xenon, Halogen, or anything else)...

You might be able to fit an LED in place of the bulb, but you need to place it in correctly as the LED is polarized. If you place it in the wrong direction, at the very least, it will not light. At most, it will fry and pop...
