Mine arrived today and I put it into my SureFire Z2. All I can say is this thing is unbelievable! I don't think I'll ever want another light without this drop in included. It would just seem like a waste. I know people have different needs for their lights, some prefer a lower light and don't need the blinding power that the M60 provides. But if you do want an extremely bright light to carry, this is a must have. Worth every penny! It's so nice to be completely satisfied with a product after reading about it on here, then taking the chance and ordering it, then second guessing how much I paid for it, and finally installing it and.....wow it's amazing! I spoke to Gene over the phone just before placing the order. He answered the phone right away, and was very willing to chat with me about what I needed and reassure me about the purchase. He and his wife really know how to provide excellent customer service. For example, I wasn't sure if I needed the extra ring that some models require. When I opened the package that arrived today, his wife had included the ring for no charge "just in case" I needed it. She had included a hand written note to me thanking me for by purchase. They are a small operation, and I enjoyed reading about their business at the website. Dealing with someone like Gene is such a pleasure and I have a great deal of respect for people like that who recognize a need, and take the chance to build a business to do something they love to do. That's what this country was designed to encourage. Bravo Malkoff Devices for doing such an excellent job and doing it with such a positive attitude! I'm not one who would normally take the time to share my thoughts on a purchase experience, good or bad. But today I just had to take a second to let everyone know my opinion of Malkoff Devices. Thanks for listening. If you are someone who might be considering one of their products, don't hesitate, your money will be well spent and you will be very happy with the entire sale beginning to end. They are first class in every way!

Thanks again Gene!

Customer service and satisfaction is an absolute must for me. That's the major reason why I buy Surefire. Great customer service and an unbeatable lifetime warranty. It's good to see small operations like Malkoff Devices prosper.

I also got my M60 from Gene just last week, and it turned my pathetic 6P "Original" incan into a light that I'll now use.

I especially like the beam where it's got a larger hot spot than most lights in this class, and the spill is actually useable.

Now I'm spoiled, and I'd like to change out the standard twisty tailcap for a good clicky tactical, but my goodness it's hard to spend as much on just a tailcap as I did to buy the brand new 6P Original itself ($45.00 at an overstocked local store).

Think about that statement . . .then think back to when you first got your 6P and how impressed you were with THAT!! Yes, the M60 is really nice. I ended up getting caught up in the weekly frenzy and now I have too many so I put a couple up on CPFMP!!

Well actually... I never really wanted a 6P Original at all because I've gone way beyond incans. The only reason I bought it when I did was because a local upscale hardware store have 3 or 4 dozen brand new ones (way overstocked) and they put them on sale for $45.
So I bought it for the express purpose of using it as a future drop-in host, and it sat in a drawer for weeks until I finally pulled the trigger on the Malkoff.
Now, however, I like the M60 so much that I'm "tempted" to get another 6P Original so I can get a M60L for it and have a reasonably bright, but much longer runtime light.

Keep a keen eye out for them in the Marketplace, they occasionally show up at a fairly reasonable price; sometimes in pristine condition, sometimes pre-seasoned :D.

I got mine today but won't get to test it out til tonight. I'm confident and hopeful that it will live up to the frenzy... dang CPF :broke:
At least the quality of my collection has gone WAY up in the last 6 months.

I gotta jump in and say how terrible the M60 is...

for my other lights. They don't seem to get much usage now that I have a M06 in my 6P. the fact that it works well on rechargables makes it very useful. and I don't need to go into the beam, as there has been plenty of raving about it as it is.

Great Job Gene, thank you.

No, there's not enough raving about the beam of the M60.
One of my pet peeves from the get-go has been that every darn one of the lights I've bought have way too narrow of a center beam and barely useable spill. In fact, I've added diffusion material to the majority of my most used lights (except the 120P because it's perfect the way it is).

So when I lit up the M60 at night for the first time, I was tickled to see that someone finally "got it right" about having a large center beam that throws real well, but also transitions smoothly into a VERY useable spill.
A 6P with the M60, in my opinion, is easily the best all-purpose light a person could have.
The only thing that would make it better would be a nice bezel-down clip for occasional pocket hang carry.

Gene is the backup washer needed in the M2 just for shock isolation, or is it needed at all times. I put my M60 in my M2 and I don't have the washer, and the light seems to work fine without it. Since I am not mounting this light on a weapon do I really need the washer?

Chuck

I have found that the rubber shock absorber in the M2 will sometimes shrink a bit and allow a little more space in the head. The shock washer is simply there to take up that space and insure good contact. It really does nothing more than extend the length of the M60 to take up that space.

I just got my first M60 today. Unbelievable light output indeed sir.

The only problem is the availability. Reminds me of a Game station Nintendo Wii. Are you gonna give as a voucher as well ? :D
:thanks: Gene.

Gene......I will probably get run off of the forum for suggesting this, but if you ALWAYS sell out of your M60, why don't you charge more for it ? I slept through enough lectures on supply and demand to know that if you can't meet the demand, the price is too low. Why not be rewarded a little more for your obviously well respected efforts ?

you are more than welcome to send Gene some cash as a gift, no one is stopping you.

Anyone having a SF 6PL and a 6P that has put in Gene's dropin, any difference between the two......or should I say, does Gene's dropin blow the standard 6PL away very much or way more?

Where are you guys finding the regular old incan 6P's at for sale?

Bob E.

no comparison. Compared to the M60 the P60L seems anemic to put it mildly.

Although there is a small gap between the bezel and the bezel base on all the lights I tried(6P, G2, C3, older 3P+A19). That's my only reservation about using the M60-light in the most adverse of conditions. But it's nothing some silicon sealant can't fix.

I have a G2L ( which should be equivalent to a 6PL ) and I picked up a BOG Super Premium Drop In, which isn't as well regarded as a Malkoff, and there is a HUGE difference !!! The Drop In has considerably more throw than the Surefire module ( and a lot less runtime )
