How do I verify that the Tigerlight has the latest generation lamp etc? I have never owned one of these lights before or really any other light of this caliber so any guidance will be appreciated. If it is not the latest generation, can I order a replacement lamp or something to update it?

I also know that some say to get the UCL lens for the tigerlight but I have read issues with lens breakage. Someone mentioned using an oring or something from a magcharger around the UCL for a tighter fit. What has been the resolution, if any, on this subject?

Which UCL lens do I need. I believe two (2) are listed ... the standard UCL and then there is a UCL-LDF? What is the difference between the 2?

Thanks and safe holidays to all.

I'll give this a shot.

The latest generation LA will have a batwing appearance to the beam.

UCL doesn't break that easily, but don't throw out the stock lens.

The magcharger has a different diameter head, so maybe a second o-ring for the tigerlight would help? Don't know myself.

UCL is just Ultra-Clear Lens
UCL-LDF is Ultra-Clear Lens with Light Diffusing Film

Hello Cue,

I don't think you can get an early generation lamp. I believe they have all been worked out of the system. At any rate, after you turn your light on, do a search on TigerLight and you will run across beam shots of the various lamps. In the reviews section there is a Beamshot Database. DieselDave has a page showing the difference in the lamps. See it here. There is some variation in the lamps, so you may not see yours exactly, but it should be close. I have both early and late lamps and like them both.

Any questions on the UCL lenses will be best answered by Chris at www.flashlightlens.com. I have a UCL lens in one of my TigerLights, and in spite of semi hard use, it has not cracked yet. I do try to refrain from dropping it on concrete. I believe someone posted a while back that they dropped their TigerLight with UCL lens out of their pocket while checking out the baggage compartment of an airplane. When the light hit the tarmac, the lens cracked.
