Well I have been thinking about this project for some time and finaly decided to take the plunge. I have decided to get an old 1920's all metal light and do a complete overhaul on it. I just ordered a 4x 123A Li-Ion rechargables and a charger. So im hoping that I can cram at least 3 (Maybe 4 if it fits) of those into this 2D light to give it a voltage boost to about 10.5 volts, or 14 volts If i can cram them into the body. I will be outfitting this relic with an Ultra Clear Lense. Since the light is completely made of metal I wont have any problems putting a high powered lamp assembly into it. The only problem I have is I dont know what kind of lamp assembly to use for this project. My budget isnt too big so I'm hoping to find a lamp assembly thats >$10.
The reason im undertaking such a project is cuz i want a light that looks completely whimpy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif when you first look at it. Then have an /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif effect after you turn it on. Also i just want a light that i can carry around and not worry about getting it scratched... because its nothing but scratches to begin with.
Can anyone recomend either a 10.5 volt lamp or 14 volt lamp?
