Glow in the dark switch

According to the website of the MTE C3-70101 it says in the specs "Glow in the dark switch which glows for up to 8 hours" I believe this is the On/OFF switch at the back of the torch. How does this switch actually glow and is there a small LED behind it or some phosporous chemical etc. Also can the functon be disabled if your not going to use it. Also they say glow in the dark for 8 hrs, so after 8hrs does it mean this function is deemed useless?

No the material used glows in dark for a while after being charged by light during daytime.

I always wondered about that...I think a fiber-optic cable to transfer a little bit of light from the bulb to the tail cap to light it up would be awesome.
