-> GLP 105 MOD | HELP !

Hey everybody!

I own Leadlight 532 nm 5mW from Vital Spirit. Finally I decided to modify it farther but it seems that I can not open up the head cap of this glp 105 laser. I have tried using a sharp razor to uncap the head from the unit but to no avail, please help I am frustrated. <font color="blue"> </font>

i took some neddle nose pliars to mine after loosening it a bit with a box cutter...kinda scratched it but "as long as it works" i say

I've just opened mine today. It was hard but i found some pliers with a round hole in them to grip round objects and they worked a treat.

All you have to do is to get a realy sharp,thin blade and keep "ringing" the joint between the body and endcap.After a while it will start to losen, it is only held in by a few mm of groves on the endcap.Once you are past the groves ,the whole module should slide out.Make sure you remove the button first.

It's frustrating when you don't want to harm the finish.

The black/gold casings are the worst - I could not get the thing to move. I even used a knitting needle down the inside and push on the base of the barrel - but after parts of resistor and springs came out the bottom - I stopped /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

In the end I used a pipe cutter. lol /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
