I was rummaging around in Home Depot today and ran across some PVC pipe that is great for 18650 tubes. It's in the part of the plumbing section where sprinkler and irrigation parts are stocked. The ID fits AW 18650s perfectly without boring. The OD is about 18 thou too big for a Mag C. It is hard enough to machine cleanly (sharp HSS seems to work well) and even stands up to light wheel buffing.
