Greetings to All!

I've been looking around on the net for a green laser over the last few days. I'm completely new to this, and I just wondered if anyone could help me with the companies. I'm trying to buy a 5mW green laser for recreational purposes. I'm not likely to modify it in anyway, and it doesn't have to burn holes in cups or bullet-proof vests or anything. I just want it to be reliable, work close to the advertised 5mW, and I want to purchase if from a company that can be trusted.

I've so far looked at AtlasNova, z-bolt, Miraclebeam, Thinkgeek, and Leadlight. Can someone tell me what the differences are between them? I'm leaning towards a pointer from Leadlight or AtlasNova, and I just want to hear if others have any details to offer about these companies and their products. Are their any companies that I should steer clear of? Are there any particular 5mW pointers that have failed to meet the expectations of people? Are there any companies besides these that I should be considering? Thank you to anyone who can offer any help!

I'm sorry if this has been answered before. I've looked around the laser section of this site and couldn't find the thread. If it has, can someone please direct me to that thread.

Cheers,

Agreed, Arnold's AtlasNova brand are the best quality pointers money can buy and they are true 5mw and nothing under that.

Cool! Thanks for the recommendations and welcome. I'll be placing an order soon and waiting for the thing to reach Japan!

Thanks again,

Thought I'd just post back to say that I received two 5mW green lasers from Arnold Beland of AtlasNova and they are sweet! It took just under 10 days for them to come to Japan, and they came through no problem and in working order. I've been giving them a good workout, but it's still daylight here. Will nightfall never come?!

Cheers to senecaripple and Lasermod for your advice!

i ordered a pair of laser goggles a month ago. still nada. from a "reputable" laser outfit. still waiting for either goggle or refund. which i requested yesterday. ofcourse no response.

I'm pleased with my Jasper from Bigah. Constant on/off switch, no duty cycle and bright. It didn't work when I recieved it, but I emailed and within hours, Noah got back to me suggesting I try tightening up the switch in its housing. Works great now.

I hadn't realised the Jasper's had a constant switch. Might give them a try... But 5mw? Hard to get used to now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

they have 2 different models and they are both priced at $129 each
