Good Travel Pack!

Are you looking for an actual travel pack, or just a backpack that you can use while travelling? Eagle creek used make some really good ones, but I'm not so sure about the newer models. Osprey, Mountainsmith, MEI, Patagonia and a lot of outdoor companies also make travel packs.

Big +1 on the Eagle Creek for general travel. I've had one of their convertible backpack/carry-on pieces for several years, over 10, and it's performed flawlessly. Still use it for most of my US travel. As for backpacking, and for the Eagle Creek packs for that matter, check REI. I recently picked up a Gregory Ultralight for weekend/3-day/ultralight multi-day trips and love it. But, I would never use it for plane/car travel as it is not conducive to my day-to-day operation.

Do you need it to meet airline carryon size limits? These are much harder to find than general backpacks, but it's my definition of a travelpack. I've only looked at US available product and availability to Tasmania may be different.
