i need help installing p7 into wf600 q2. ive never done this before. how exactly do you solder to the heatsink and which wires go where.

Im a newb, help!

Success! :)

honestly, im not very impressed. The light is brighter, but not by very much. The beam now has a donut hole, but i can negate that somewhat by focusing. I doubt itll throw as far due to the less tight hotspot.

That said, It sure is bright. i got the reflection from the bathroom mirror right in the face while testing it out. I still see a big white spot.

Ill work on gettin a camera to show you guys. Im guessing its dimmer with worse beam structure than other p7 mods around here though.

Are kaidomains C Bin P7s really 740-900 lumens?

You'll have to be pushing the LED at around 3 amp to get that amount of output. The P7 is pretty much 4 Seoul P4s together in one package.

Since it's a WF-600 and it only uses one 18650 batteries, you should be able to remove the driver and direct drive then LED and that should give you enough current to drive the LED brightly.

You need to find another driver circuit to boost current to 2A or more, or simply run it direct drive on ONE 18650 LiION cell. The SSC P7 need more mA to perform to spec. Then it should be hysterically bright.

i was under the assumption that the wf-600 was direct driven (i have the 18650 only version). there could be a driver in the pill but i don't know if i could take it apart without destroying it.
Ill take another look.

I ran a "B" bin direct drive off an 18650. Measured 2.8-3.0A at the tailcap, it's very bright for a "B" bin. If you're not getting at least 2.8A, wait till you do and make sure you wear your sunglasses:cool:.

The WF-600 might have a driver, or at least a resistor.

The Pill(LED + Driver/resistor/whatever it might be) should unscrew from the light.

If your version is the 18650 only version, it probably has a resistor. If it's the 3.6V - 9V version it prbably has some kind of circuit.

I've been wanting to put a P7 in my WF-600 but the head on mine must be welded on.

One owner reports only 1.15 amp draw on high. Seoul spec sheet indicates about 400 lumens at 1.4 amps. If the owners measurements are accurate, the light will certainly fall short of 400 lumens.

It did have a resistor on it. I took that out and WOW. Very bright.

I wish i could do something about the donut hole but other than that it great. It brightens the room with the lights on already. :)

If you want to get the most from a P7 IMHO a Mag modded with one and a good heat sink is hard to beat.
I am running one in a mag light on an O-sink being powered by 3 rechargable D cells. They provide both the voltage as well as all the current the emitter could ever want. this makes for a Very bright light. IMHO a five mega larger reflector assembly makes for a better reflector solution than the stock (cam cut off) Mag reflector.

Even still if the reflector is adjusted properlly the beam is THICK and BRIGHT.
So if you want to do this look around the directions are out there search for "space needle mod instructions". The Mag mof can be done in about an hour and is well worth it if you want to explore the P7 and see what it can do.
