Update - With consistent application of a rat ******* file, the outer edge of a Ledil Boom can be rounded down. Filed almost to the inner reflective surface, the Boom will fit up inside the bezel of the Trustfire HCU-M7. The result is a near perfect beam, lots of spill and generous distribution towards the center. %100 donut free.

I've used my light like this for the past ~5months. It is very nice.

I have been banging my head on the workbench putting together taglights.

Recently I put a FP99 acrilite lens from flashlighlens in.It really helps get rid of artifacts in the quad dies.Just though you might want to offer as an option.If any one has one you shoud try it

Okay folks..

I am at the mercy of DX to supply me the hosts that i need
to make these lights for you all. The only one they have available
has a 3-Mode driver that will run from primaries or rechargables.
It has High/Mid/Strobe modes Only.. The light is the same otherwise.
There will still be a Direct Drive options for those that want to run
AW or Imr cells in there for a true Monster of a pocket light 🙂

If no one has a problem with a simple 3-Mode or DD setup, I can
start this groupbuy shortly. For those that want more driver functions,
We have to wait for DX to start carrying them again 🙁 I dont know
how much longer we have to wait.. But i am checking everyday

Would you settle for an MC-E
Its kinda tough modifying all those reflectors for P7's :huh:

It has about 10-15% more output...
But comes out to about the same with it
having a larger dome than an MC-E.
That means the MC-E is better suited for
the small reflector in that little light than

Previously, you said the DD means no illuminated tailcap. But this 3-mode would have the illuminated tailcap option?

Also... I kinda favor the P7, but what I'd really like would be an SST-50 (and maybe even SST-90) option... obviously raising the cost accordingly.

(Since some of you may be scratching your heads over the notion of an SST-90 in a CR123 light, or fixing to remind me that I won't get 9A with the voltage sag from even an IMR16340, let me explain: If you completely don't care about the beam profile (or prefer even floodier), the larger die means lower Vf at the same current, and in DD, Vf is everything. I don't expect to drive it twice as hard or anything, but every bit helps.)

Well.... In that case, I will explore more options for you folks :thumbsup:
Give me a little time to put together some ideas on other drivers
and led choices.. Maybee this will be the Swiss Army of all lights
with a whole lot of choices 😱

As for a tailcap led.. I honestly dont know until i have a light in hand
to test out the capabilities.
