Grounding the db converter

On a downboy if i bridge that ring of silver on the outer edge of the board to the ground solder point. when i pot the converter into the ecan will it be grounded? this is in lou of a ground wire

The ring around the perimeter of the DB is not a ground, you will have to run a ground wire to the can separately. This is unlike the NG, where you can solder the ring to the can to make ground contact.
