Anyone in Oz interested in CR123 lithiums?

Just came across a "source" in Oz that can supply CR123s (and possibly AA Lithiums) at pretty good AU prices.

Quantities are box of 20+ (A$6.57 ea) or 100+ (A$5.98 ea). They come retail packs of 2 batteries, which is therefore 10 packs per box.

I will send via Aust Post at cost.

Let me know ASAP as my supply needs replenishment very soon (and can't justify spending $9 each knowing that I can get it much cheaper).

thanks all.

hi howard.

hmm... perhaps if it is about 3-4 AU$ each, i'll join.

i have contact someone at ebay.com He said he could supply me duracell ULTRA (expiry date 2011) for 2US$ each.
its about 4AU$ i think.

but, yeah, its not including the Shipping cost.
its quite heavy i think to buy in bulk.

anyway, im glad found another one flashaholic in OZ hehee...

Be sure to let me know if you find anything in AU for $3-4!! It'd be a damn miracle ;-) It's a real shame prices are more than double those in the US :-(

Anyhow, even if there are no interest from others, I will still get 20. Beats paying retail even though it is slightly cheaper than bringing it in from the US.

Have a good weekend

Oh there are cheaper 123's... only if you bring them from overseas (Hong Kong)..

Pity that my luggage was weighted down already with too many things (mostly lights), otherwise I would've brought more back.

howard, try to contact [email protected]

with Bryan.

he got a lot of 123's, but no boxes, im not sure they are 100% new, but he said it is new and totally usable

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I'm sure it is nicely priced in HK. Find out how much they are. Perhaps they can be posted back to AU reasonably cheaply and quickly, not 3 months via sea ;-)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Hi.

What company does Bryan work for? The one he has must be bulk packed, ie. loose in trays of 50 or 100. I don't tend to trust them. How do you know they are brand-spanking new? A least the carded ones come from the factory and you can be assured of their remaining life. Of course, Byran could have gotten them from the manuf directly.
Are you definately going to get some batts? Let me know, so I can work out how much I can afford to stock up and we can ask for 200+ batteries (if there are 5 buyers with 40 batts each).

When you have worked out a total quantity, I'll go back to my "source" and see if he can match that, with the postage cost from the US taken into account.

howard, yes,, i m also not sure its 100% new, i just contact him a few times.

i dont know where Bryan work at.

about the battery, i guess i have to look around first, try to find another 'source' that is cheaper.

and, my 'greed' to have a lot lot of battery getting diminished,
tongue.gif
since i have look at the 2002 surefire catalog, and look at the BEAST with NiMH battery rechargeable, and 2000+ lumens for 60 minutes! 600 feet throw of blazing light!
WOW!
(although I dont know exactly how long 600 feet is in meter)
tongue.gif
hehehe

but, im going to save my money to get 1 of it for sure!

and buy batteries later.

but, if in the future im going to buy 123 batteries , i will contact you as well, perhaps we (flashaholic OZ) could gather in bulk buying.

cheers

YC, how much 123 in HK?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Well.. say @ HKD $10 each... (~AUD $2.22)

And no price break though, one time I bought a hundred of them and the guy still didn't give me a discount.

-YC

ouch! buy 100 and not get any discount!

he might have a big family to support.

Howard : its called the BEAST.
for more info you could download the catalog (9 MB size) from Brocks web page.
www.uwgb.edu/nevermab/flash.htm

oops! i got typo, its 600 YARDS, not feet.
(why americans use yards and feet instead of meter.)

What would the postage cost be to AU, say for 100 batts?

howard@mbox

Sorry, count me in on any battery buying thing!

I haven't been able to get on CPF for the past 72hrs (since during/after that storm that hit Sydney) so I've missed the progression on this thread.

Howeard/Mbox, what brand are the batts you speak of?

kalengkong: 1 yard = approx 1 metre (metre is slightly more)

They're Panasonic, and individually wrapped in a clear, lollie style wrapping.

I mean I would go and buy some and send it to Aus, but I'm in Melbourne at the moment so that kinda makes it hard.

It'll be at least half a year until I'll be in HK next.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Do you think they are brand new? Is the lolly style wrapping from the factory? The ones we get here have the hard clear pvc plastic.

They're brand new alright, all of them register at least 3.25v.

Just cheap cause you need to know where to look. On the same street, different stalls will have different prices.
