Will a Super Strong Rare Earth Magnet harm my Surefire L1 Cree in any way? (battery/electronics)

I purchased a bunch of rare earth magnets and want to have my L1 hanging next to me on the wall. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

i did the same thing with my p1d it's one of my work lights. it has worked great so far no problems.

That light should be fine with magnets. It would not be fine for something like a SF U2 or Night-Ops Gladius, which use Hall sensors and are easily affected by magnets.

Magnets are just not enough for belt carry, but they would work fine for wall hanging.

You might want to look into 3M's "Dual-Lock," or "hook-and-hook," fasteners. That stuff is crazy strong.

Can you hang CR123a, NiMh & Alkaline cells with magnets? Will it cause any damage? Thanks for your replies!

get a couple of the LEE valley 1" rare earth magnets, over 50's of pull required to pull one off metal, and over 90lbs of pull required off a second magnet.

I clip a knife to myself, using a LV rare earth magnet sewn into the sheath, and another one in my shirt pocket. It takes considerable force to try to remove it from the shirt (the sheath that is, not the knife, that just clips out)

Shouldn't think so. I use those 18650 size batteries and they require a magnet between them to function. ALso I have charging wires also with magnet ends. So far the batteries are functioning like normal.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was only curious because of how strong these magnets are. I don't want to damage any cells or lights because i'm enjoying my magnets :ohgeez:
