Today is Cinco de Mayo; May 05.
Today is often regarded as "Mexican Independence Day".

This holiday commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The date is observed in the United States and other locations around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.

So, happy Cinco de Mayo everybody!!!

Independence day in Mexico is the 15th of September, and the mexican revolution is celebrated on 20th of November.

In the late 1800s Hellman Company introduced Mayonaise to Mexico. It became an instant hit and was one of the most popular products imported into Mexico. But all Mayo had to be shipped from Europe to Mexico, which made it a special treat and kept the price up.

However, They had a huge shipment in the hold of the great ocean liner Titanic. As we all know the Titanic met a tragic end on May 5, 1912. The Mayonaise went to the bottom of the Atlantic.

The Mexican people were so heart broken at the loss of their Mayo, the named a holiday for it.

They call it

Sinko de Mayo!!!!
