Has anyone ever replaced the battery on SUREFIRE STILETTO PRO? The one-year warranty has long since expired, so if it breaks in the future, I would like to replace it myself. Although it is very convenient as a light, the battery is disappointing.

My biggest issue was the grip. Slippery like a freshly caught fish. Ironically the non-Pro version with the polymer grip is slightly better in that regard. These lights are made to have a limited lifespan. Replacing the battery pretty much means destroying the body. I was very disappointed in seeing SureFire keep the basic grip design on their new double-barrel version. Considering the price, I won't be adding it to the collection.

I believe the guts slide out if you remove enough screws, at least on the older Stiletto. The battery is one of those flat LiPo packs you see in electronics so you should be able to solder in something.

I'd have a hard time buying a "good" flashlight with a battery that's not designed to be serviced. They're durable goods rather than a tech item that becomes obsolete in four years. Surefire in general doesn't have a good history with rechargeables, either. They dropped support for all their super expensive police lights as soon as they could.
