Has the Tariff Situation Held You Back From Making a Purchase?

If I decide to hold off a little longer on purchasing a new computer. I would've ordered a RZE UTD 800 on bracelet. Even at a 10% import tariff from Singapore (would be an extra $45 bucks). Not enough of a push to make the sale.

How about you?

I was planning on ordering some more cargo pants and jeans for work, until i seen the price increase of almost 38%!!

I guess ill wait till closer to christmas. Maybe they will go on sale.

Unfortunately most of the purchases I have to make are for business reasons where I have no choice. If I don't make the purchase and pay the tariff I don't make money. I can only control who I buy from. Those who play ball by declaring lower values are more likely to get my business.

In the long run I hope these tariffs are struck down by the courts. They're a highly regressive tax which hits the poor and middle classes, along with small businesses, the hardest.

I hope they stand, don't really need to buy anything of any significance; have pretty much all I want already. This whole consumerism thing is a farce, and an environmental disaster as well. Haven't bought a new PC in 20 years, all since then have been ~$50 Craigslist specials or hand-me-downs. Clothes are $10 Bimart jeans and high-quality thrift store shirts. My cellphones last 8+ years, and have a relatively new one plus a new tablet as well - so am set until the AI takeover in the 2030's, honestly.

Noticed prices have gone up on most things,
like the largest retailers raising prices on everything to camouflage individual price increases.
Haven't needed to buy anything big, so to answer the OP question:: Yes & No

U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is mainly driven by consumer spending, which consistently makes up about 70% of the nation's GDP
Wonder what it would take to get that to 50% > hmmm, actually manufacture things in the US

queue the container ship(s) photos

All Trumps tantrums tariffs have done is make me ( and several others) boycott US made products all together. Trump has made Canada's relationships with other nations stronger and has actually reduced the price on many goods from other countries here. He has made it so hard to ship anything to the US that I wont even send a gift anymore. Hell Trump probably owns shares in that useless Zono's app that we are required to use now.

Nope, nothing I buy, I mean everything, not just lights, has not gone up enough to notice, prices have been going up steady for over a decade, little by little, so i can't really tell, if price increase is due to tariffs, or not.

Bought a grey-handled Byrd Cara Cara from a certain online site specializing in knives. Bought it over the black-handled version because that one was $10 more. Rather obvious why. Didn't hold back on purchasing the knife I wanted. Though did go with a different color option due to the tariffs.

No.

The statement I'm about to make will sound kind of stupid to some...based on the profit margins on certain goods, people who drop shipped from China are now experiencing issues because their margins have shrunk considerably...

The new maelstrom!

I just want to thank Trump for his tariffs. Thanks to him I just bought several items from China and most places now offered free 2 day shipping rather than the standard 1 week to 2 month delivery time. The prices were also lower than normal. He saved me on average 30 percent of stock cost. Not to mention shipping and tariff fees. By not buying American I probably saved close to $400 on this order. The American version's are all made from parts out of China anyways.
