Have any of you ever used the strobe and SOS function?

Why do many flashlight manufacturers put "annoying" functions like strobe ans SOS into their lights?

Have any of you ever used it?

I've used the PD20 strobe function on unsuspecting co-workers.

So far, no serious use for strobe or SOS.

I think the only thing the strobe function can do is trigger epileptic seizures... With other words: totally useless

There have been hundreds of threads on this divisive topic. Most of them ended badly, having been punctuated by abrasiveness and intolerance - one of them just a few days ago, IIRC.
