HDS Campfire Anyone? In Florida btw...

This is a great thread to go back and re-read.

Post #214 is full of great info. Found a few fond memories in there. I bought a Novatac 85T from Lighthound (... a moment of silence please) and loved it. The output was not bad for the time but quickly eclipsed by brighter lights. It remained clipped inside a bag until I read a few too many modding threads and cracked it open. After burning myself with a soldering gun and mangling the original module, it took a backseat for awhile. I found a member on USN had some HDS lights he was selling and I got my very own LE 200 Clicky. Robust and bombproof, it was with me for some great times, especially cleaning out the attic in my parent's old house. After awhile, some of our faithful modders took note of my Novatac journey, gave me great advice, and sold me a replacement module. I modded that with a fresh XPG2 and my Novatac has been going strong ever since. My HDS was put on the block and sold to continue life with another of the CPF flock. My Novatac is very bright and has a beautiful neutral tint and I still use it.

Well, several photos went missing because of a certain photo hosting place, but here it is again...

Arizona... not exactly a far trip for an HDS.

HDS Covert Navy Seal 250 Tactical on duty at the Hoddesdon Rye House Gatehouse. Thought I was going to lose it at one point but luckily the rats in the water didn’t get to keep it!

Here's an HDS Rotary winging its way over the Pacific. You can see that it prefers Snickers bars and ginger ale for an in-flight snack, LOL.

And here's a Rotary enjoying the moonscape views near Bend, Ore. Probably feels at home in this sort of environment.

What filter is that you got? I almost lost my light yesterday on that dodgy bridge

^^ Old school SF F04 1" diffuser. ^^

Yup, gotta keep a close eye on the HDS, they like to run off! 😀

Also a good diffuser is the Fenix AOD-S Diffuser. I bought this diffuser at the begin of the year (it is a cheap thing ~5€). But if you like to use your HDS in candle mode you can use it very well. When I have time I can take some pictures. 🙂

Something about that picture made me think that it’s a 2XAA. I have one myself. Think there were only like 15-20 ever made.

I picked up a few of the Novatac "Classic" ones when the went on clearance for $20 (the whole light, not just the tube). Fits all of my 120P's and Basic/Ultimate lights. It's a tall drink of water, but it's nice to be able to run on two Eneloops.
