The anodizing on my tail cap is a slightly different shade than the waist portion. This leads me to believe that they are two sperate parts. Is it easy to seperate these two parts? I do not want to damage or mar the finish, so I haven't really tried to twist them apart with any mechanical means, just my fingers.

Has anyone had theirs apart?

Thanks,
Ryan

Mine come apart. Just takes a little effort. It can be a hard to get a good grip on the waist of the light but I was able to.

If you're concerned about the color mismatch of HA parts, it's normal, I have 3 HA SF lights (L1 Lux Gen 2, E1L-SR, and A2) the L1 is essentially uniform in coloration, the E1's original twisty tailcap is more greenish, as is the incan bezel, the body is gray, the A2 is similarly mismatched, the bezel is gray, the head is greenish, the body is a darker gray than the bezel, and the tailcap is lighter gray than the body, with a faint greenish cast

nothing to worry about, it's normal, purely cosmetic

My tail cap is smooth. I need to take it apart, and it has nothing to do with the color differences. How does it go together? Press fit, threadedand some thread lock applied?

Thanks,
Ryan

I think you'll need something like a saw or a waterjet to get the smooth tail to come apart.

So is the switch servicable in the smooth version or not? Does anyone know for sure how the two parts are fastened together?

Ryan

What is wrong with the switch? Did you know you can send it in to Novatac for a warranty repair?

Remember that this switch is not a regular on/off. It's only a clicky switch that activate the microprocessor.

What can you modify ?

Guys , I think you all are missing the point. I just want to know how the two peices are assembled and how I can disassemble them w/o ruining anything. Is it possble? Has anyone done it.

Does it reall matter why I want to do it? I know what the swtich does, and how it works. What I do not know is how to take it all apart w/o messing anything up.

I know this will voit my warranty, I know there is nothing "user servicable" in it, I just need to get it apart. Can anyone help?

I am looking down the bore of the waist/cap of my EDC Ultimate 60. I can not see a seam along the length of the bore. This means two things to me, either it's one piece, or the the seam is right at the board for the switch.

If it's one piece, how does the board come out, and how does the rubber swtich boot come out?

If it is two piece, the waist is holding the switch board it. Is it press fit?

Ryan

If you truly know how the switch works you should know it's not user serviceable and is not designed to be taken apart. It is two pieces and I believe it is soldered or epoxied together.
