I lost my HDS Golden Dragon today.
It was in my pocket secured by the $15 HDS clip, which is a stout clip.
I cleared some brush in the woods to install a ninja obstacle course my wife got for the kids for tactical training and I noticed it was gone.

I searched the wooded area but it’s like a needle in a haystack.
I remembered a neighbor next door had a metal detector. He came over and sure enough we found it under leaves.

Seet!! Very cool solution, I lost a light many years ago in a similar situation..... searched and searched...... never found it. Dang and metal detector was a brilliant idea.

Now there are a lot of devices that have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, some flashlights are already have, it would be nice to insert such a modul into the flashlight so that it constantly sends signals about the location of itself, then it will be possible to locate a lost flashlight or a specific person accurately enough if it gets lost somewhere where his phone sits down, something like a trekker, very convenient. I mean, launching a locator app on your phone and finding your lost flashlight is a great idea, right?

I definitely got lucky...I searched for 30 minutes before he showed up with the metal detector.
I was upset over losing it because it has such a nice punchy beam and a nice tint for that beam.
Up until yesterday I was pretty set on every light having a pocket clip....but now I'm going to try it in the pocket without a clip.
I can see where for a general use EDC a pocket clip isn't really a big deal for me....for times I need to quickly send lumens down range the pocket clip makes more sense.

It's even easier to lose it without clips, unfortunately, + it rolls off inclined surfaces more easily. I've also noticed that a lot of the clips aren't flexed enough to provide good clamping when they come from the manufacturer, even the Prometheus ones are too weak. When I receive the clips, I fold them with pliers to ensure a good hold on the thinnest clothes I can hang them on and have never once lost a flashlight due to the clip. But this does not apply to universal HDS clips, even if they are well bent, they still do not hold well. Just wondering what kind of clip did you use and how good is the clamping force? And one more little question, when you hang a flashlight on your pocket, is it outside or inside? I mean like this

I almost dropped the lantern and knife a couple of times when I was walking through the bushes, but it hung on my pocket like on the left side of the picture, that is, outside the pocket. Now I put them inside and never lost again.
