HDS question

I have an HDS clicky. If I attach a rotary switch to it, can it be operated as a rotary?

In short, no. The clicky head is not compatible with the rotary body and vice versa. You can send in the head to HDS, and for a fee, they can reprogram it to either a rotary or clicky. I don't think the reprograming (to change from a clicky to rotary, or vice versa) is something an end user can do.
