Sorry if I missed this, but are there comparison pics of 18650, 18500, 18350, CR123 and AA HDS?

My Photoshop skills are less than good but...this is an approximation...left to right: 2AA, 18680, 18500(?), 18350/CR123. The 18350 will look no different than a current CR123, just a bigger inside bore, from what I understand. Just so you know, the AA, 18680 and CR123 are real photos, the 18500 is fake news...

Ohhh that 18500 apocalypse compartment will be sweet! Seems like the perfect balance between body and head (sounds like a cheesy health food ad or something...). Will be the ultimate in hand size too I suspect. Thanks for the fake news!

Man I hate waiting. If someone travels from Europe to Argentina between now and February let me know since you could bring me my HDS Rotary. Since I know that's not happening, I have to wait 4 more months.

Four months? Man, I’ve ordered things from China (about on the other side of the globe from NY) that didn’t take that long...why so long? Just curious, I do feel your pain...

It's very difficult to receive things per international mail here. You either have to pay 50% import fees (if you're lucky) or it gets "lost" at customs (if you're not lucky). I'll be visiting my parents in Europe in February. At least my dad has a nice light until then.. Even if he's just using the one I gave him for his birthday this year.

EDIT: It's also my 1st HDS, so I'm actually pretty excited to finally receive it. I bought it 3 months ago.

Ah....got ya. BTW...you’re a good son!

I already started thinking about 21500)))

By the way, here someone wrote that HDS switch is not as reliable as rotary SF. I cannot find this place in the search. I would like to move this message to that place.

Here's what happened now - I took out a flashlight that I hadn't used a long time for to make photo and sell, this is G2 with 6P head and 6P tail. His tail fell apart in my hands, I didn't use any force, and where is the reliability?

No. Unless you plan to have your light in your pocket with small hard scratchy items. Even then the lens is pretty recessed so hard to reach...I think I never had a scratched lens with the current design (Novatac and EDC is another story).

Sapphire lens worth extra $50 over the UCL?

No. Henry offers it because people ask for it, but the UCL is very well protected deep in the bezel and dampened from drops and blows. The sapphire lens loses something like 30% of the light.

I prefer sapphire over UC due to no blue hue AR coating. But that’s just me.

Sapphire blocks 30%? My Sapphire lens looks very clear. Would that mean my 225 CRI is only a 157.5 CRI? LOL

EDIT: Pretty sure HDS calibrates OTF lumen. I'm sure someone will clarify this.

Yes they do. So if you were to buy a light with a sapphire lens, then replace the lens by a UCL, you'll gain a few lumens :D

Edit : I mean they do calibrate. I doubt Sapphire blocks 30%
