Is there any way to find out what parts are in stock or what configurations may be possible without having to email Henry directly? The website allows you to add everything to the cart, and I'm sure not all of it is available.

I'm sticking to my uninformed prediction that things will start shipping right before shot show. Maybe the 325 will be upgraded to 350/375 lumens for all pending orders and the guys stuck waiting will be glad they were upgraded without notice.

Your ship date prediction may be practical. But your lumens estimation seems, to me, to be nothing but wishful thinking.

So then I take it none of these older Rotary orders have received any communication from HDS? Last I talked to Henry was over 2 weeks ago now and he told me Rotaries were in final testing and should be shipping "by the end of the week", which would've been 2 weeks ago now. At that point he was telling me that my newly ordered custom Rotary would be 4 weeks away, which means I should be down to about a 1.5 or 2 week wait. From the chatter in this thread I'm assuming that I shouldn't hold my breath on that.

I really don't want to pay $400 and get a light with a problem so I'm glad he's making sure they're right and will be patient. But I did order it from a website that said 4-week delivery and then confirmed that delivery schedule with the maker through email. I'll assume those things were said with the best of intentions, but if they now can't be met then some honest communication would be very much appreciated.

My promised date hasn't arrived yet, but many of yours has. So does anyone have any "official" updates or communication?

Not here, I don't email Henry too often but plan to after Christmas. It would save everyone a lot of trouble and Henry a lot of time answering emails if HDS would post regular status updates. Perhaps a 'locked' thread (only HDS can post to it) can be created for the purpose?

I'd imagine Henry is the most upset of all. Just think of all the xmas sales he's lost not only through direct sale but also from inability to provide dealers with stock to sell in time for the holiday.

I find it a bit strange that HDS didn't continue producing as is to fulfill orders and then make a running change once the new components/process were verified. Who says "I've got a great idea, let's shut things down until I can implement"?

Of course, maybe there were components that had worn tooling or some issue necessitating the shut down.

Not a good situation either way.

OK, this is not my idea but Vinh's. I actually tried it and dang if it does not work a treat. The one thing you have that can scrub a reflector and not scratch it is ... your tongue. Yup, lick that bad boy clean and rinse it off with warm water. He has a post about it somewhere, and I tried it on another light, and I can attest that it does indeed not scratch the reflector, but can remove stuff that just flushing with water can't. I'm just the messenger, and YMMV.

I have successfully used a similar concept to clean a reflector. No tongue involved.

Squirt Dawn dish soap all over the reflector covering it completely. Use your pinky (or your wife's if it's softer with fewer calluses), very lightly rub it around. Let the soap act as a buffer between your finger and the reflector surface. Ideally your finger never touches it, just smears the soap around.

Rinse a lot. Blow off with compressed air. Voila!

More than likely true, however, it did happen to guys who had pending orders for a 200 lumen light right before the 250 was released.

I went ahead and ask for a refund today. Upon receipt I will be buying a Hi cri light from a dude in Hawaii who only sells what he has on hand and ships fast.

This was my thought too and what I think I read a while back on the thread. THX

I know that dude.

Guess this is the wrong time to say I just received a 4K rotary from the secondary market. 🙂

Sweet!

Would that be cool!

I feel bad for people who ordered back before anybody knew there was a wait. Illumn still has the 170 tac rotary on sale if you don't want to wait.

Yeah. It's kind of a bummer. I ordered August 19th with no expectation of a delay other than having a holster made. Prob would have canceled my order already, 4 months later, if I'd ordered it direct. Still want the light and have sympathy for how hamstrung Hogo must be, so I'm patiently waiting and trying not to bother him more than once a monthish.

We have an online sales channel for our business and the website backend manages inventory so that out of stock items are not available for purchase. Avoids a lot of headaches and unhappy customers

I suspected the wait was going to be lengthy for the second 4kK group buy, so when Tixx put his first one up for sale a few weeks back, I snagged it right away. You got his second. We are both happy campers now!

😀

Now if my custom rotary orange cerakote 200 HiCRI ships, I would be even happier. And if my 4kK also ships, I would be happiest! :faint:

I waited 18 months for my first and then less than a week for the hi cri AA.

Great light.
The 2xAA tube makes it look like a baton!

I wish the price was cheaper on those things. I'd love to get one, but it's hard to spring for a new battery tube that costs what I paid for my light initially.

Gents- Some decorum please. The frustration, in which I share, is fine. This IS Henry's house, though. Even if he's not posting here right now. A couple of off topic posts removed, let's not get other maker's lights involved. Thank you...
