Henry has it on his site: With flush button : The total flashlight length with this battery compartment is 126mm (5.0"), and with raise button : The total flashlight length with this battery compartment is 130mm (5.1").
Can anyone tell me the length of an HDS flashlight with the 18650 tube configuration? Thanks....

Thank you Tonkem... I had trouble finding that info on the site...

I have many lights, even 1x18650 hot rods with way above 2000lm. Still the HDS rides in my pants pocket, and quite frankly, most of the time I use less than 100 lumens. More like 60.

Nowadays we tend to think that we need to have 1000 lumens or more at hand, because the technology exists. But in reality for most tasks much less is practical.

Well, if I ever win the lottery and can then justify spending $300-400 on a light, I will definitely consider getting myself an HDS light with the 18650 tube... I was checking out the customization options and the 325 lumen LED with the flood beam reflector would definitely suit my preferences...

🙂

I have spent much more on a single light, sometimes it is worth it, sometimes it is not. If it suits your preferences, then just buy it, and eat ramen for a month 🙂 You can always sell it on the marketplace and recoup some of the cash.

To anyone that has imported a HDS light into the UK from Henry himself what duty and import fees did you have to pay in addition to the shipping charge. And what service was used eg FedEx, UPS?

It is. Without a doubt, maybe until one day Henry managed to source a 400 lumen HCRI replacement.

Now THAT would be worth waiting for! I run my 170n at full output whenever I use it so the rotary function is somewhat wasted on me. I think if I buy a 200 I may try the clicky since I always use the highest output. I don't like Zebralight H1 in sc62w because it gets hot too quickly pid or not.

Does anyone know if Henry has ever considered giving the UI the ability to hold different profiles for the user programmable configuration?

For example, I use my light very differently when I am walking my dogs than I do for work. It would be great to be able to have profiles for each.

Uh, yeah, it's also over FIVE times brighter, why wouldn't it get hotter? Why not try it with H2 at 149 or 326 lumens? Or did I miss the point, and you will not use the lights at anything less than their max output? Then even a clicky would be wasted on you, I suppose.

Has anyone recieved tracking this week? I'm getting really impatient and frustrated with missed deadline after deadline. If I didn't already order a custom holster from Hogo I would've already canceled my order.

I do use H2 but that output level is comparable to HDS 325 anyway. Don't get the wrong idea. My 2 favorite brands are HDS and Zebralights. I use H1 in short bursts occasionally. Iusually use H2. My 170n is the only flashlight I own that I run at full output all the time. 170 lumens is not too bright for anything I do. I don't ever find 170 lumens blinding as some people do. Often I wish I had a 325 but I also like great CRI. If money were no object I would buy a 325 rotary and a 200 HI CRI clicky. That was my only point. I know now that I will seldom if ever turn the 200 up and down much. 325 lumens may be too bright for some things so the rotary will be more useful. I'd kind of like to try a clicky anyway.

I don't own any flashlight that hits 1000 lumens. I think the p62w may be my brightest.

Hello has the hds hcri 200 4000k 219b been tested to 93 hcri ?.
anyone tested this?.

i thought the 219a could reach 93 but not the 219b as on some nichia threads here on cpf some prefer the warmer, "higher cri" of the A than the B.
I thought the B had more brightness and less CRI to the A.

thanks.

Non tracking but Henry responded to an email from me Monday that fixing a glitch was delayed because of the holidays. I ordered early November so hopefully not too much longer for my 200 high cri custom rotary.

Henry tests his HCRI lights, that's why the previous Nichia 219B were labeled 170 N, neutral not HCRI since they didn't meet his standards.

170N had the previous 219B rated by Nichia 85 CRI min. (92 typ.)
HCRI 200 has the newer 219B V1 and is rated 90 CRI min. (93 typ.)

I had emailed Henry and asked what percentage of these newer 219B V1 actually met his HCRI standard and he replied that they all met his standards and that's great news.

thanks for the response. I emailed him today but have yet to hear back. I'll update if I do.

Thanks , so just as good as the 219A?.

Very subjective, but I'd say it is a small step above the 219A in color rendering and just a bit warmer.
This 219B V1 is not only rated 90 CRI minimum but also given R9 rating 50 minimum.
The current CRI standard only includes colors R1-8.
R9 is the red color and from what I've been reading it is an important addition to just CRI.
You can google "CRI R9" for some interesting articles.

Thanks I'm looking for a back up light to the hcri 200 with the white reflector .
what Would you suggest ?
does hds have any thrower lights?.
so I'd have a close up and throw light.
i have an elzetta 650 cool white bravo, but....
i read about elzetta lights getting rid of their cool white tactical lights in favour of neutral white - about better object recognition and seeing through haze fog better.

what does hds users say on this?.

Thanks.
