Each to their own I suppose. Not for me.
I prefer matching black or titanium or aluminum bronze. Unless of course there was a big price break :)

Hogo - For the Nat HA, do you/Henry have a color in mind?(green vs grayish) Or are you just aiming for a color match?

I not only don’t care about matching ano, but I actually prefer it. Hogo if you mess up the ano on a light please sell it to me... I think that mismatching ano gives it an extra vintage vibe like older surefires....

I am super impressed by all the new light options coming out! It’s even getting hard just to stay up to date on this thread! ;)
I just couldn’t swing the Ti cost at this time, even though they will be amazing! So for me, the natural ano would be really interesting on the lights. But as already stated, the premium for that seems a little steep. I may still pull the trigger on one, but I could easily see myself getting two it they cost less.

So here’s my 2 cents. It seems that most who like the natural ano don’t mind, or actually prefer, mis matched colors. Since these are a special run, all of those find buy them will have read that these lights would be mis matched so that’s not a valid reason for complaint or return. Besides, different colors looks a little bit like camouflage, which is cool. And then each light will be unique, which would make them even more valuable, while lowering the initial cost to buy them.

Thats all. Rant over :D
Thanks Hogo for all your doing. Keep ‘beating up Henry’ with your ideas, and we’ll keep sending him our money
And (shameless plug) I have been using one of your holsters at work for over two years, it’s awesome. I got it when the first run of the hyper–red came out. I’ll have to post a picture of it sometime.

My father called me this morning asking for advice on a flashlight purchase. He initially wanted two lights, one for his pocket and one for his wood shop, with a budget of about $150 for both. I suggested that if he had one perfect flashlight in his pocket, he wouldn't need a second one dedicated to the wood shop. He was warm to that idea and agreed that high CRI is important for viewing wood stain.

I showed him my HDS rotary, then one thing led to another. Next thing I knew he was on the HDS website ordering a 3 O'Clock High rotary. (I hope they are still in stock!)

HDS for the win!

I can see the glow on your face from here.
There's no way he'll be disappointed.

I resisted purchasing an HDS for a long time for a variety of reasons. Now that I've used them, I think HDS is the pinnacle of EDC flashlight technology. Reading about the specs is one thing, but the experience of handling one is quite another. From that perspective, I can understand why Henry doesn't invest much in advertising. The HDS bug spreads by contact only!

Actually, none of the limited stuff can be returned unless it is a warranty issue... so not really worried about that.
This is the problem... reading comprehension today is horrible. Yes, that is the issue or just so many people think they are special and what applies to everyone else doesn't apply to them... I'll get to that later.

You see, if it were up to me, I would just toss all them there parts into the anodizing tank and let nature take it's course. After this, one of two things could happen. 1. They could just be randomly put together. 2. Some poor SOB could go through and sort them by color. I would probably be that poor old SOB.

Now, HDS would have something on the website such as you don't get to pick which natural NA you get and we won't take photo's and send you before we ship, and requests will be ignored... etc. etc.

This is where reading comprehension comes into play. We will be barraged with calls and emails making exactly these requests. I can guarantee it. Just from the titanium run, I personally received in the vicinity of 50 emails, PM's, FaceBook messages, and even a couple phone calls (how the hell did people get my phone number?) At least no one showed up at my doorstep. Everything from requesting serial numbers, naked bezels, 18350 tubes, tritium, etc. etc. Henry even received an order the other day and the person requested the new ramping software... You know... that software that doesn't exist and won't until a new power supply is developed....well, this is the only place one could have learned about it, and obviously there was reading comprehension issues.

So, doing it this way would lead to it's own problems.

Even in group buys I would get requests to check the emitter for centering, and the tail for no clicking sounds, and to make sure flush buttons tail stand nicely, etc... A natural HA run would be horrible if the parts didn't match... and I'll still push Henry for it... I'm a masochist...

I’ll take the ramping & silent rotary on mine too. Thanks.

(BAHAHAHA)

The N219b sw40 will be an option in the bronze. I have no experience with that emitter and my searches for input, opinions, descriptions and beamshots are coming up thin. If anybody has some insight I’d be glad to hear it. Especially as compared with the F89HG, which I am familiar with. Even a comparison with now discontinued 200 High CRI would be helpful.

It appears that many have selective reading issues. Crazy that people will push for these requests when Hogo made everything clear.
Also knowing what Henry and Dan were going to go through with this whole deal...just amazing that so many people will keep on pushing. If i got those requests, id probably just cancel their orders and put them on "the list"

As far as all the fuss about rotary smoothness in counterclockwise direction. After seeing the internal design, it is clear to my eyes why it only happens in this direction.

It doesn't bother me one bit but i can see how it might possibly be remedied

I'm just happy that Hogo has quickly turned things around and is bringing us new flavors and working to bring us things that many want. You do not find that in many manufacturers

I can't provide much info or resources but many prefer the sw40 over the sw45

I would say it's probably 50/50. I hope to own both. My source comes from the link that was provided a while back on purchasing the last of these emitters.

Im fairly sure the sw40 is slightly warmer and doesnt have the pink hue

At the risk of "crossing the beams", I have all three, all in HDS lights even. Put most of them there myself. The SW40 R9080 is my favorite, but there isn't a bad choice among them. If you're familiar with the now-discontinued Hcri200, then honestly the SW40 R9080 is really really similar, with an extra bump of red. The difference would be more obvious with a fancy multi-frame gif like I made last time, but I don't have one handy. I can do that later though, if you want to see it. But here's some photos that may or may not be helpful.
