is it a good idea to wrap the P60L module in something like aluminum foil so it will make contact with the inner wall of the 6P battery tube to better dissipate heat.

I don't want to short circuit anything so any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

maybe copper wick?

I don't know how to do it, but perhaps this question is better asked in the Homemade/modified section. They're always doing stuff like that.

Are you sure that the module is not making contact with the body when screwed down. Push the module all the way into the body. Does the flange part of the module not contact the top off the battery tube?

I think boosterboy wanted to know if it would help to dissipate heat. I don't have the answer but it seems to me that if the module is already making good contact, any increase in heat dissipation would not be significant.

As far as avoiding short circuit, just be careful not to have any part of the foil touch the central spring which connects to the positive of the cell. I have done this on several of the P60-type drop-ins and no problem so far. If you want to be ansolutely safe, you could always use the test probes of a multi-meter to test for continuity before putting in the cells.
