help a newbie! modding a pelican M6

Hi guys, i have a pelican M6 Led flashlight and i'm thinking of putting a 5watt or 3watt led in it. What's the easiest way to go about this and what parts will i need? Much help would be appreciated!
 
You'll need a McModule, a modified reflector (don't think you'll reqire the reflector since you have the LED model, but don't take my word for it), a Downboy convertor (IMO, 700-917ma are good choices for LuxIIIs and 650-700ma for LuxVs seem to be ok for decent runtimes), and of a LuxIII/LuxV or your choice (the lower the vf the better runtimes).

Thanks Darkzero, but i'm still kind of confused about the downboy converter. I looked on the site and I didn't see a downboy converter that was 650-700ma. and would the White 5W Lambertian (HD) LXHL-PW03 Bin V luxeon led work fine?
 
The bin "V" will be fine. I have a V3T /PR/BB700 that has a very nice beam. The BB750 seems like a very popular board for a 5 watt Luxeon driven with 2x123.

neo, to get say a BB700 you would need to purchase this one (Badboy blank) which allows you to choose your own custom current output. Use the calculator that kakster linked above to find the needed sense resistors for the level you choose then choose those resistors in the options menu. Make sure you choose the option to get them soldered on unless you are good at soldering those tiny little critters. For 700ma you will need to choose .12 and .15 resistors which actually calculates to 694.

As Hoghead said, BB750 is the most popular for driving LuxVs. I just prefer 650-700 cause it'll give you a bit better runtime. Since it's a LuxV, it won't throw nearly as far as a LuxI/III, will be a perfect up close to mid range light, and being a LuxV it will throw out gobs of light anyway so stepping down from 750 to 700 will be "easier" on the batts.
