Hello Guys;
I have been following this forum for quite a while now and i thought it is time to ask the question. Am I a Flashaholic?
About ten years ago i bought a 6P in Germany for a good handfull of money. This light has served me well and loved the craftmenship. When i lost this light 8 years later it was replaced with the 6P/PT version. My birthday presents over the last couple of years consisted of 12PM, UK100 and a variety of Mag`s. Since I started reading this forum I bought an E1E and since I missed the last $98,- shippment of Arc-LS`s from Brightguy i had to order the LS from Peter directly. It apears that I have lost any regard for the cost high quality lights and it seemst hat I am in desperate need of some kind of pill.
Preferably the LX one that Lambda made for the E1E.
Please give me all the advice you can!
David

You've become a CPF member and you are "asking" if you're a flashaholic? The answer should be obvious!

While the onset of the condition, in your case, seems to have been slowly creeping up on you over some months, or years, it is now time to face reality. You have 2 possible remedies to consider:

#1. Abstinance. This involves removing yourself from the temptation. I have found that living halfway around the world from the best and most readily available supplies, in tandem with living on a paupers salery has a certain dampening effect on the urges. Alternatively you could become a monk in absolute seclusion, but I don't think your condition requires such an extreme responce, you will be a better judge of that than I.

#2. Control. This is a more appealing option, whereby a regeme of carefully controlled indulgence is permitted within very strict budgetary constraints, in both time and $$, is adhered to. This option however holds out no possibility of recovery, although, a smooth transference over time, from control to abstinance can result in a situation requiring no further treatment.

The downside of treatment is that if you do manage a cure you would no longer need the CPF. Now that is something to be contemplated only with horror and dread! But whatever course of action you choose I wish you well in it.

All you need to get addicted is an E2e.
One taste of that fine instrument and you're gone.
