Ive been looking for something like that too. Preferably something warm that can sustain 800 lumens or so.
I don't like armytek btw.
The only thing I've found so far is Acebeam h30, seems to be able to sustain almost 1000 for 2 hours in cool white, or 800 lumens in 5000k
I really prefer 4000k
I've been thinking about getting Vinh at skylumen to install a xhp70.3 hi cri 4000k in it, but everyone keeps warning me that the 4000k is very green
I wish there was another 21700 based headlamp in 4000k that can sustain at least 800 lumens but I haven't found any other alternatives
Can it really run at 500 lumens for 18 hours? I've always thought of nitecore as being a lower quality brand.Nitecore NC70, I've had it for about a month or so and used it for working at night for a couple of days. Never needed to use more than the mid setting, and do utility work.
I'll put a few more hrs on it tonight as I have a night maintenance. I also have the aux battery bank but have not used it yet. I moved into this from a Fenix headlamp. I have not noticed a green tint with this light, doesn't mean it isn't there. With both batteries it is well balanced on my had hat and it lives there all the time. We I'm working I don't have it on for 8 hrs straight, but I have yet to charge it.Can it really run at 500 lumens for 18 hours? I've always thought of nitecore as being a lower quality brand.
That one is already on my list but I cannot find the runtimes on the 4000k high cri version on Google or Reddit or anywhereYou might check out the Emisar DW4K 21700 right angle light. It has a plethora of emitter options for dialing in your color temps. There are no runtimes listed on the Emisar website, so some Googling may be needed.
I've owned a zebralight for about 9 years. It's nice and light, but it steps down fast if you need decent brightness. I want something with a longer runtime around 250-500 lumens.Have you run a 21700 headlamp? Heavy. Zebralight will give you over 12 hours at 150 lumens.
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out. It would be nice to have the battery in your pack to reduce the weight. How does the weight feel with the batteries on the head strap? It's a bit over your budget, but if you want something really good, I can recommend the Fenix HP30R V2.

Fenix HP30R V2.0 Rechargeable Headlamp
The Fenix HP30R V2.0 is a professional headlamp with a separate battery case and multiple output modes that is able to produce 3000 lumens.www.fenixlighting.com
2x removable, protected 21700 in a detachable box at the back of the head for excellent weight balance. Rotary button on the right side of the lamp head can be easily used with gloves. The battery box also supports power passthrough, so you can use it as a battery bank, or use a battery bank to charge the batteries.
I have the HP30R V2, and I really, really like it.
As for Nitecore, I considering them inferiour to Fenix in both beam tint and build quality. And most of the Nitecore LEDs I have seen recently have had a cool white light (~6000K), with an ugly, greenish tint.
I didn't specify it as I figured no one would do it, but when I said the battery pack is detachable, I mean you can remove the battery pack from the back of the head and clip in on your belt if you want. Or on a backpack. But I haven't tried configurations other than the stock, with the pack at the back, so I don't know the exact options. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out. I've heard of the Lucipher lights but I haven't read much about them. Are they on par with Lupine?I'm not sure if these will 100% fit your needs for a 21700 headlamp, but here are some more options to consider.
Olight Perun 2
Olight Perun 3
Imalent HT70
Fenix HM70R
Fenix HM71R
Fenix HM75R
Cyansky HS7R
Then like you mentioned, a Lucifer light might be the way to go for getting exactly what you want even if it's more than you're looking to spend. Like the say goes "buy once, cry once ".
Good luck with your decision 👍
Lupine looks like it was specifically made for bicyclesI've heard of the Lucipher lights but I haven't read much about them. Are they on par with Lupine?
They make an outstanding product. I don't have one at the moment, but it's on my wishlist for my next headlamp.I've heard of the Lucipher lights but I haven't read much about them. Are they on par with Lupine?
