I've been researching all night. I want a EDC single AA that primarily has more throw and is regulated. I also am looknig for brightness and I will be using Eneloops. Any help is much appreciated.

My eyes are tired from researching O.O

PS:
Please keep in mind the actually lumens: ANSI, OTF, Emitter. I wish all lights were done ANSI 145 emitter Lumens is not too much compared to ANSI lumens.
And I am not into the Zebralights guys. Thanks!

Re: Looking for a cheap single AA light. Brightest and cheapest.

Food for thought : Lumapower Trust 1.
Primary AA (duracell, eneloop) = 170 emitter lumens
Li-ion AA (14500) = 370 emitter lumens
I love mine ! Excellent throw with good flood as well. It is definetely my favorite single cell AA light.
You should be able to find them for under $40 Welcome to CPF !

All good suggestions above. I would add the just-released Nitecore D11.2, 145 lumens on ordinary AA. I don't own this light but Nitecore is a good brand that is known for throw.

I'm not a fan of Zebralight either (nothing against them, just don't like the design aesthetically). However, if you want high brightness from a single low voltage battery like NiMH, they excel at that. ZL is among the very few 1xAA flashlights that perform just as well on NiMH as on 14500 lithium ion.

i see lumapower are marketing that one as PURE WHITE selected led tint bin.

Keep in mind lumen ratings. ANSI, OTF, Emitter. I updated my original post in bold.

PS: I've been on here since October my account got deleted during the problems they were having and so did my posts 🙁.

The Zebralight on AA NIMH High gets High:122 Lm OTF/14500 193Lm OTF. I am not a fan of the
aesthetics either honestly. I don't mention it because I don't wanna take any heat for it hehe. I read it's a good light over and over again.

It also depends on what kind of batteries your running. I want light brightest with fairly good throw on Eneloops I have tons of them lying around kicking back pretty new I need make them DO WORK.

Currently my favorite light is Energizer Lithium 2AA ELMCL21L 110Lm ANSI I was contemplating getting the Energizer 1AA version Lithium ELMCL11L 65 ANSI Lm. My Lithium 2AA has the perfect balance between throw and spill. I want something like this with more power and smaller since I know single AA can do better the 110 ANSI.

I like the L1A and the Fenix LD10 R4/R5 I was reading the R4 has a brighter hotspot. Any other options?

EDIT: I did more research hands about to explode.
-SUNWAYMAN M10A
-Thrunite Neutron Flood AA
-LumaPower Trust Model-1
-Dereelight EDC C2H

What do you guys think about one of these above would best fit my bill?

All single AA.
The Neutron is primarily a floodlight I believe as it's what it's called hehe. So it may not be a good contender despite getting 145 ANSI rating.

My Led lenser P5 will throw longer than any other 1AA light I own, over 100 meters...

If you're looking for throw, I'd suggest something utilizing a XR-E R2 emitter and looking for Lux values instead of just total lumens output.

The old Jetbeam RRT-0 R2 is my best thrower on AA (but not sure about regulation, I'll check later). Best of luck in your search.

EDIT: Apparently it's pretty well regulated on NiMH.

Cheers,
Tim

Funny you should mention that. I cant get mine back from my wife. Great, great light. Unbelievable throw on any primary AA. I have an Eneloop in mine.

I plan on ordering it today(Sunday) so it can sip out tomorrow. I am still deciding. Finding a new light is a tedious challenge.

Is the Sunwayman M10a ANSI rated? What about the Luminitop L1A and Lumapower Trust 1? Are they ANSI rated?

I'm not sure if the L1A is ANSI but I can tell you I have the L1C which is the same head as the L1A but on 1xcr123 body and the L1C is rated at 230lm and from just doing ceiling bounce test with light's that I know for sure are 200-220lm and the L1C is every bit as bright as those lights.

Another thing you can do is order the L1A and buy a L1C body and lego the different heads and bodys, you can use the L2A body as well.

I'm not sure if TacticalHID sells the body's but they can be found here.

Just thought I would chime and say that I just bought the L1A with the L2A body from Jason at TacticalHID.
Should be getting it Saturday! Can't wait!

I just got a Fenix LD10. I am not too happy with it honestly. It's a bit too floody for me and my Energizer Lithium 2AA is 110 Lumens and has great throw with good flood. I wish I can change there reflectors!

So I am still looking. Also no momentary on for the LD10 and it's not as bright as I wanted it to be. I guess I'll still be looking for a more concentrated beam AA. Hows the BA10? I also might use 14500 later so I want the AA light to safely be able to hand that too. Maybe a Jetbeam RRT-0?

Hey Animalmother,
If you don't mind just having 2 modes (I have to have a low of at least 2 lumens) then the BA10 or the EagleTac P10A should both be great lights.
I have a friend who has the P10A and if you are looking for throw with just a single AA then like LED Thrift said that may be the light for you. It is a very tough light.
