Help me decide on multitool

Powdernoodle which one do you want to buy the Victorinox Swiss Tool X or the Leatherman Core ?

Let's see.

Both tools are well made with good warranties and feature an extensive list of useful tools. Remember that the Swisstool is more along the lines of the Supertool in size. I think you'll be happy with either one.

Both are great tools. How you should decide between them is really if you want a one-handed opening knife. The knife blade (and a few others) on the Wave can be opened one-handed. On the other hand, the Swisstool is made of inox steel, so it is almost impossible to rust. It is even dishwasher safe. I like the pliers better on the Wave as they are thinner and more versatile for my uses, but the Swisstool's pliers appear stronger. The phillips head is marginally better on the Leatherman tools, IMO. The multitool that I carry is the Swisstool Spirit. Smaller, lighter, and has all the tools I generally need.

With quality multitools, there's no such thing as "more reliable." 🙂 Just "better."

I agree with Carrot,I have both and both are excellent tools.
:sssh:
+The SwissTool is stronger;
+All the tools of the Swisstool are accessible without opening the pliers;
-The wire cutters area is smaller than my Leatherman Wave;
-The SwissTool blade, serrated blade, saw and file are accessible without opening up the pliers and can't be opened one-handed
+The Wave's blade, serrated blade, saw and file are accessible without opening up the pliers and can be opened one-handed...
