I have an unknown Red (apx. 35mw)laser diode and driver that I bought from Roithner about 2 years ago. For the life of me I can't remember what the configuration of the diode/photodiode is (eg. CCA, CAC, CCC). Fortunatly the driver and diode are soldered and working so I can take measurements to figure out what kind of configuration the diode is.

The trouble is that I can't get my brain around how to measure it. When the diode is running I get a positive voltage from pin 2 to pin 1, and also have a positive voltage from pin 2 to pin 3. Any idea on what kind of diode I have, or how I can better measure it?

circular diode?

If so they are *typically* case positive. look for the pin that doesnt have an insulator around it going into the back.

Could you provide high detail pictures for me? I might be able to help figure this one out.

See ya.

Thanks Spec, I figured out today that it was a Mitsubishi CCA diode. I appreciate your willingness to help!
