Well, its about time I got a new LED light. My brightest one would be a MiniMag with a Madmax sandwich in it. And get this, its only got a Lux III! Of course its not my brightest light. Im on my 5th lamp assembly for my SF M3, and I really dont want to keep buying more. Ive played with a few cree lights before and I have to say they were pretty bright. So now I really want one. Something between 50-150$. It would be nice if it were able to run on rechargables. Its going to replace my M3 so I guess itll have to run on 2x123, 1x17670 or 18650. One thing that scares me about newer lights is the user interfaces and the vast numbers of modes available. I want something simple. Ive never owned a light with an interface more complicated than a Glotoob FX. I realize that there are seriously no good lights out there today that dont have an adjustable and to some extent complicated user interface, so Ill have to get one anyway. What lights can you suggest that have a relatively easy UI while still being bright, reliable, and having useful beams? I really cant stand pencil-thin beams, especially after being spoiled by my surefires. Thanks in advance.

There ae some decent lights out there with simple interfaces now. If you're happy with just one mode the almost universal recommendation now is a SF6P (or C2, C3) and a Malkoff M60 Dropin. There are a couple choices for brightness/ runtime on them.

My personal passion has become 18650 lights, and unfortunately SF values its battery sales too much to allow them into their bodies anymore. So you'll have to look at some of the other manufacturers for alturnatives. Fenix TK11, Olight M20 Warrior are both nice simple interfaces, however have less than optimal regulation when using 18650s. Dereelight CL1H has a couple simple mode options and can take an 18650. New kid on the block Eagletac has an 18650 light that I'll be checking out soon. Jetbeam makes some good 18650 lights and after you set the UI how you like it is very simple. If you want a scorcher head over to the marketplace Elektrolumens forums and grab a P7 EDC from Wayne. Finally Wolf Eyes makes some great, tough lights which can take 18650s. And their newest offering the Champion can take 17670s.

There's a TON out there, this is just most of the 18650 stuff. :faint:

The Fenix T series lights are pretty easy to use. Tighten head = Max, Loosen head = low, nothing more, nothing less. Their other lights are also pretty easy to use.

The Jetbeam seems like it can be simple after you set it to be the way you want it to be.

The Dereelight CL1H can also be simple to use, just get the module that suits you. They also accept any P60 type modules.

Same with Wolfeye(I'm not sure about the P60 part though).

There are a few more in the 18650 range too.

What would you be using the light for?

The jet beam's and most if not all the programable lights have default setings so you wouldn't have to set them untill you want to.
