l disassembled and had the exterior of my flashlight powder coated. Now that it is re-assembled, it won't turn on. I'm using an md20x lamp module, which I verified worked in other flashlights. It has a new battery and a new switch.

Maybe the new battery is dead? I charged it for 10 hours today, with no joy.

I put in the old switch and nothing. I used acetone to clean off the area where the ground screw connects to the body to bare metal. Nothing.

The spring in the cap is still touching bare metal and the threads weren't coated. I'm at a loss. I'm suspecting that it's not making a proper ground. I'm getting ready to strip the factory anodizing off the threads to see what would happen.

I used a little bit of dialectric grease when reassembling the light. Maybe I shouldn't have?

I'm gonna get a volt meter tomorrow and see what happens.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Edit:

Filed powder coating off edge of flashlight body and end cap. Works flawlessly.

Cool beans! That was going to be our first suggestion!

Ahem - we need photos!!
And where do you live? I think there is always a desire for a shop that does good powder coat work.

I live in the Central Coast in California. I used Powder Coating USA in Paso Robles, CA. They did a really good job, considering I gave them a used and abused flashlight body.

I'll get some pictures put up tomorrow

As promised.

Damn, I like that color! It turned out well.
I'm right next door, in Arizona :)

The last cerakote job I did was a good while back. I'm making a couple torches that might look good with an applied finish.

Here's my 3-cell solarforce, modular down to a 3P (one cell) configuration.
