Help Modifying a Night Sun Tail Light

Good Evening, all. I'd like to use a Night Sun xenon strobe tail light with a DIY 12-volt system. The Night Sun representative I spoke with told me that the light must be connected to their proprietary battery pack or it could be damaged because current direction matters, and the connector ensures proper polarity. I intend to cut off the Night Sun connector and splice the light into my DIY system. Is there any way to determine which wire goes to positive and which to negative? Anybody done this before? Thanks!

Does anybody have a Night Sun water bottle battery? If so, I'd really appreciate it if you could take a multimeter to the connector to determine polarity and let me know. Thanks!
