Hi ,

I am stuck with building my crocodile spotter .

It uses 4 LuxIII red/orange emitters [from PF]; directdrive 9AA NiMh in a Mag 3D format.

The problems are:
1] It isn't bright enough [maybe tied up with(2)]

2] It isn't focussed enough ie doesn't throw c.f with a quad SSC its hopeless
Tried Ledil optics;IMS20 reflectors. I need a minimum of 200m.

Any suggestions welcome

PS: This is NOT a frivolous post........I am trying to avoid been EATEN

Unfortunately I need the red spectrum to catch their eyes, I have tried a quad Cree[wh] & SSC[svoh] the beam is acceptable but it doesn't highlight the colour of the eyes.
Thanks for your input.

Do the emiters need to be red/orange or can they be any colour? You could do a mod with modamag's custom cree heatsink with a shark board if the LED's can be white. I don't really know I haven't actually done one.

The rebel and K2 are available in red versions. If you get the K2, then you can get some stupid narrow optic (only works with K2 apparently) that should throw the light 200M. Nothing else as narrow is available for other LEDs, though I can't remember what it was called....
