I have a Maglite 2C flashlight that I would like to modify to use a 1 watt LS w/ Optic. I need some help in deciding what type of of converter board i should use: badboy 500, badboy 700 or any other suggestions? Also, if running a BB700, will it be too hot for the nx-05 optic and it's plastic holder? and will Elektro Lumens' 30mm optics be a better choice for a nice focused beam?
thanx in advance

30mm will produce a much tighter, and much brighter hotspot. Use a HD Luxeon with the 30mm for the best results. (LD's w/30mm optics arn't near as bright). You could also use the micropuck which puts out 350ma to the luxeon as another choice.

thanx isaac
i'll prolly use the 30mm w/ a LD becuz dat's what i have rite now. this being my first mod i'll try things out w/ it.

i'm kinda looking for a very bright light w/ battery life coming second.

i've looked at dat2zip's converter boards and i'm still debating which one is best...i'll have sufficient heatsinking (i hope so anyways) so which BB board should i use? i'm kinda leaning toward the 700 cuz i want a really bright beam but i'm wondering if there are any other suggestions

alright...i'm confused now...i've been getting a lot of conflicting info and it's slowly driving me crazy!

so i guess this is my final question:
can i use a badboy 700 to run a 1 watt white LS (Q2H), well-heatsinked to a maglite head, on 2C cells (nimh)?
