I came here because I was interested in getting advice on green lasers, but I am kind of a flashlight addict too, as I have quite a few flashlights. I am a noob here, so I was wondering what would be a good LED flashlight. I have several Mag lights, with regular bulbs, but would like a nice bright LED light. Thanks in advance!!

I don't have first hand experience yet with the latest Cree or Seoul LED lights so I'll not be giving you any advice on that front.

The advice I have to give would be to explain your requirements. List price range (Willing to drop 300 USD?), size preference, battery type preference, etc.

Without knowing what you want, I might mention the Fenix L2D-CE. Using 2 AA batteries it manages to be brighter than previous generations that used lithium cells. It is priced fairly and offers a lot of features as well as fantastic output and runtime. But if you specify more what you're looking for we might be able to recommend options that may suit you better.

Howdy Autumnknight, and welcome to CPF,

+1 on the Fenix L2D CE that carrot mentioned. I've had mine for several months, and it's a good bang-for-the-buck and all around great light that I can happily recommend. Available here:

Another nice thing about it is that by purchasing an accessory 1xAA battery tube (or even a 1xCR123A battery tube), you can make it into a nice pocket light.

And just to mention them, there are also drop-in LED modules that you can buy for your Mag lights that are very bright too. Just start reading some threads here and you will begin to discover a whole new world of lights. have fun!
