Help!!!! Surefire E1e Elite Spring!!!

I can't believe I lost the spring from the tailcap of my E1e elite!!!!! Anyone know where to get these??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Oh well, I'm out $20. I called surefire and they can't sell me just the $.05 spring. I had to order the whole replacement tailcap! Unreal. Oh well, lesson learned, don't ever drop your tailcap!

Well as a follow up I did get an email from Doug Walters (a Service Tech @ Surefire) who put an extra spring for me in the mail!! Go figure. Thanks Danny for the offer, but now that I am getting a new spring I guess I will keep my tailcap. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I guess in the future I will ask to speak to a tech instead of a parts person. You are right Josh, I probably will check around for springs that will work as well. Take care all, Happy Flashing!!

We've discussed this before in other threads but by chance did you get a sprint that was wound the 'right' way? Some springs are clockwise and others are counterclockwise.

Do you live above or below the Equator? Has to do with the swirl of the spring.

I strongly advise against using any old spring in a SureFire. These are finely tuned parts. I am surprised SureFire Customer Services wasn't able to replace the spring for free. I guess that since I wasn't involved in the phone call, I do not know the details of the situation, and because I do not work for SureFire, I do not know their methods for dealing with a lost part (rather than damaged for example)

You could talk to the Customer Service manager. He may be able to help you.
